We had a great trip to Austin last week. We went with 2 homeschool families from church.
My friend Tara's uncle, Justice Jeff Boyd, is on the Texas Supreme Court and gave us a great talk and tour of the supreme court.
He took us into the back room where the judges put on their robes and line up to enter the court room. It was really cool!
Touring the Capitol
We got a special treat and got to tour the Lieutenant Governor's reception room. This guy is one of the cooks there and told us all about the artifacts/antiques and history of the room.
They even offered the kids some ice cream that was left over from the senators/congressman's lunch!
The next day we went to Pioneer Farms and saw many homesteads from the 1800's.
The girls got to wash clothes like they did back then.
Mark and Toby planned a special Valentine's evening for us girls.
Swim meet time!
What a great post, Jo! Love the field trip photos. What a special Valentine's treat for the ladies. And, those girls are quite the swimmers! Thanks for taking the time to share these with us. Love, Ju
