Memorial Day with FOPS

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend at the 4-0 with the FOPS.  It was time for our blessings for Jared, Ben F., and Samuel.  We have blessings for our kids around their 13th birthdays, and it is a wonderful time of encouraging them as they prepare for the next phase in their lives.  These families are such a blessing to us!

Canoeing and fishing are always highlights!

Sunday morning church is a time we all look forward to.

Sadly, eating ALOT is also a highlight.

The adults were set up around the property, and the boys traveled around to receive their blessings.

God is so good to all of us, and we thank Him for the gift of these friends!

Winding down the school year...

Jake was asked to give a speech about one of the seniors at his Tennis Banquet, and Lane videoed it for me. As is his style, he included some humor. However, I loved this last section where he spoke of serious matters - so thankful he has a spiritual accountability partner from the tennis team!

Mrs. Richey has been such a blessing, working around Jake's tennis and Satin Strings schedules. This photo is from his end-of-the-year recital this past Sunday afternoon. He had to leave before the awards because he was giving a talk at church, and she kindly gave him his awards right after he played (she usually gives them all at the end).

Permian hosted a pep rally for the freshmen/incoming sophomores. The band, choir, gymnastics team, drama troupe, Satin Strings, etc., all performed. I got there early to get a good seat in the bleachers, and I so enjoyed watching Jake on the floor, participating in all of the traditions he has learned at Permian. For example, while the students are filling the bleachers, the drummers play all sorts of beats and the kids respond with corresponding arm movements, little "dances," etc. It's so fun to watch him laugh and interact with his peers!

WONDERFUL to have this kid home!

Mason's Graduation

This past weekend was so very special and perfect!  Thanks to everyone who came to help celebrate Mason.  A huge thanks also to my family who worked the entire time.  We would have never eaten, and I would have no pictures if they hadn't given so tremendously of themselves.  I love you all!

This is Jonathon Boyle - Mason's roommate at A&M.

We missed you, Debbie!!

Mason's blessing at church was amazing.  Such a great time of encouragement and celebrating Mason and Jonathan Park.  So many thanks go to the Onsteads and the Fridges.  They worked so hard to make this evening very special.
Carman, our worship minister, sang a song called Send Me Out.
Ronnie has been the boys' preacher since they were born.  He was so very kind to say a few words during the blessing.
Paul, Mal, Tim and I spoke about Mason.

(Sorry - too hard to rotate)

Jo and Luke had great conversations with the Wylies.  I know they made them feel so loved!
God is so good and has blessed us abundantly!!
